1 Corinthians 2:12

1 Corinthians 2:12

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

a. NLT: And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us.

b. NIV: What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.

c. YLT: And we the spirit of the world did not receive, but the Spirit that is of God, that we may know the things conferred by God on us,

d. Amplified Bible Classic: Now we have not received the spirit [that belongs to] the world, but the [Holy] Spirit Who is from God, [given to us] that we might realize and comprehend and appreciate the gifts [of divine favor and blessing so freely and lavishly] bestowed on us by God.

e. Worrell Translation: And we received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit Who is of God; that we may know the things freely given us by God.

f. Wuest Translation: But as for us, not the spirit of the world system did we receive but the Spirit who is of God in order that we might come to know the things which by God have been in grace bestowed upon us.
