Romans 5:17

Romans 5:17

For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

a. NLT: For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.

b. NIV: For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!

c. YLT: for if by the offence of the one the death did reign through the one, much more those, who the abundance of the grace and of the free gift of the righteousness are receiving, in life shall reign through the one -- Jesus Christ.

d. Amplified Bible Classic: For if because of one man’s trespass (lapse, offense) death reigned through that one, much more surely will those who receive [God’s] overflowing grace (unmerited favor) and the free gift of righteousness [putting them into right standing with Himself] reign as kings in life through the one Man Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).

e. Worrell Translation: For, if, by the trespass of the one, death reigned through the one; much moreshall those who receive the abundance of the grace, and of the gift of righteousness, reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

f. Wuest Translation: For in view of the fact that by means of the transgression of the one death death reigned as king through that one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness in life will reign as kings through the One, Jesus Christ.
