Psalm 84:5

Psalm 84:5

Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.

a. ASV: Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; In whose heart are the highways to Zion.

b. YLT: O the happiness of a man whose strength is in Thee, Highways are in their heart.

c. Classic Amplified: Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man whose strength is in You, in whose heart are the highways to Zion.

1. “Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee…”

a. Blessed [is] [Strong: 835 ʼesher, eh'-sher; from H833; happiness; only in masculine plural construction as interjection, how happy!:—blessed, happy.]

b. [the] man [Strong: 120 ʼâdam, aw-dam'; from H119; ruddy i.e. a human being (an individual or the species, mankind, etc.):—× another, hypocrite, common sort, × low, man (mean, of low degree), person.]

c. [whose] strength [is in thee] [Strong: 5797 ʻôz, oze; or (fully) עוֹז ʻôwz; from H5810; strength in various applications (force, security, majesty, praise):—boldness, loud, might, power, strength, strong.]

2. “...in whose heart are the ways of them.”

a. [in whose] heart [Strong: 3824 lêbâb, lay-bawb'; from H3823; used also like H3820 the heart (as the most interior organ);:— bethink themselves, breast, comfortably, courage, (faint), (tender-) heart(-ed), midst, mind, × unawares, understanding.]

b. [are] the ways [of them] [Strong: 4546 mᵉçillâh, mes-il-law'; from H5549; a thoroughfare (as turnpiked), literally or figuratively; specifically a viaduct, a staircase:—causeway, course, highway, path, terrace.]

 1). The wording in the different translations point to an upward way or road.

a). Proverbs 16:17 The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.
