2 Peter 2:9

The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

1. “The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations…”

a. [The] Lord [Strong: 2962. kurios koo'-ree-os from kuros (supremacy); supreme in authority, i.e. (as noun) controller; by implication, Master (as a respectful title):-- God, Lord, master, Sir.]

b. knoweth [Strong: 1492. eido i'-do a primary verb; used only in certain past tenses, the others being borrowed from the equivalent 3700 and 3708; properly, to see (literally or figuratively); by implication, (in the perfect tense only) to know:--be aware, behold, X can (+ not tell), consider, (have) know(-ledge), look (on), perceive, see, be sure, tell, understand, wish, wot.] 

c. [how to] deliver [Strong: 4506. rhoumai rhoo'-om-ahee middle voice of an obsolete verb, akin to 4482 (through the idea of a current; compare 4511); to rush or draw (for oneself), i.e. rescue:--deliver(-er).]

1). God has delivered us through what Christ did on the cross and resurrection. He does deliver us in our everyday life as we call upon Him and He will deliver us in the future.

b). Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

2. “...and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:”
