And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.

1). These verses describe the irrigation of the garden and the splitting up of the river into four separate rivers and some of the natural resources in the surrounding area. The geography of the area changed dramatically after the flood so their exact location is unknown, even though there are familiar names in the descriptions.
