Exodus 12:42
It is a night to be much observed unto the
LORD for bringing them out from the land of Egypt: this is that
night of the LORD to be observed of all the children of Israel in their
generations.
a. NLT: On this night the LORD kept
his promise to bring his people out of the land of Egypt. So this night belongs
to him, and it must be commemorated every year by all the Israelites, from
generation to generation.
b. NIV: Because the LORD kept
vigil that night to bring them out of Egypt, on this night all the Israelites
are to keep vigil to honor the LORD for the generations to come.
c. YLT: A night of watchings it is to
Jehovah, to bring them out from the land of Egypt; it is this
night to Jehovah of watchings to all the sons of Israel to their generations.
d. Amplified Bible Classic: It was
a night of watching unto the Lord and to be much observed for
bringing them out of Egypt; this same night of watching unto the Lord is to be
observed by all the Israelites throughout their generations.
e. Septuagint: It is a watch kept
to the Lord, so that he should bring them out of the land of Egypt; that very
night is a watch kept to the Lord, so that it should be to all the children of
Israel to their generations.
f. Stone Edition
