Hebrews 12:28

Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:

a. ASV: Wherefore, receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us have grace, whereby we may offer service well-pleasing to God with reverence and awe:

1. “Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved…”

a. Wherefore [Strong: 1352 dió, dee-o'; from G1223 and G3739; through which thing, i.e. consequently:—for which cause, therefore, wherefore.]

b. [we] receiving [Strong: 3880 paralambánō, par-al-am-ban'-o; from G3844 and G2983; to receive near, i.e. associate with oneself (in any familiar or intimate act or relation); by analogy, to assume an office; figuratively, to learn:—receive, take (unto, with).]

c. [a] kingdom [Strong: 932 basileía, bas-il-i'-ah; from G935; properly, royalty, i.e. (abstractly) rule, or (concretely) a realm (literally or figuratively):—kingdom, + reign.]

d. [which] cannot be moved [Strong: 761 asáleutos, as-al'-yoo-tos; from G1 (as a negative particle) and a derivative of G4531; unshaken, i.e. (by implication) immovable (figuratively):—which cannot be moved, unmovable.]

2.  “...let us have grace…”

a. 3. “...whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:”

a. whereby [Strong: 1223 diá, dee-ah'; a primary preposition denoting the channel of an act; through (in very wide applications, local, causal, or occasional):—after, always, among, at, to avoid, because of (that), briefly, by, for (cause) … fore, from, in, by occasion of, of, by reason of, for sake, that, thereby, therefore, × though, through(-out), to, wherefore, with (-in).]

d. God [Strong: 2316 theós, theh'-os; of uncertain affinity; a deity, especially (with G3588) the supreme Divinity; figuratively, a magistrate; by Hebraism, very:—X exceeding, God, god(-ly, -ward).]

e. acceptably [Strong: 2102  euaréstōs, yoo-ar-es'-toce; adverb from G2101; quite agreeably:—acceptably, + please well.]

  

f. with [Strong: 3326 metá, met-ah'; a primary preposition (often used adverbially); properly, denoting accompaniment; "amid" (local or causal); modified variously according to the case (genitive association, or accusative succession) with which it is joined; occupying an intermediate position between G575 or G1537 and G1519 or G4314; less intimate than G1722 and less close than G4862):—after(-ward), × that he again, against, among, × and, + follow, hence, hereafter, in, of, (up-)on, + our, ×and setting, since, (un-)to, + together, when, with (+ -out). g. reverence [Strong: 127 aidṓs, ahee-doce'; perhaps from G1 (as a negative particle) and G1492(through the idea of downcast eyes); bashfulness, i.e. (towards men), modesty or (towards God) awe:—reverence, shamefacedness.]

h. and [Strong: 2532 kaí, kahee; apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words:—and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet.]

i.  [godly] fear [Strong: 2124 eulábeia, yoo-lab'-i-ah; from G2126; properly, caution, i.e. (religiously) reverence (piety); by implication, dread (concretely):—fear(-ed).]

1). It takes grace to serve God, to be obedient to Him.

a). 1 Corinthians 15:10  But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
