Hebrews 13:5

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

a. ASV: Be ye free from the love of money; content with such things as ye have: for himself hath said, I will in no wise fail thee, neither will I in any wise forsake thee.

  

b. YLT: Without covetousness the behaviour, being content with the things present, for He hath said, 'No, I will not leave, no, nor forsake thee,'

d. Amplified Bible Classic: Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]

1. “Let your conversation be without covetousness…”

a. [Let your] conversation [Strong: 5158  trópos, trop'-os; from the same as G5157; a turn, i.e. (by implication) mode or style (especially with preposition or relative prefix as adverb, like); figuratively, deportment or character:—(even) as, conversation, (+ like) manner, (+ by any) means, way.]

b. [be] without covetousness [Strong: 866 aphilárgyros, af-il-ar'-goo-ros; from G1 (as a negative particle) and G5366; unavaricious:—without covetousness, not greedy of filthy lucre.]

2. “...and be content with such things as ye have…”

a. [and be] content [Strong: 714 arkéō, ar-keh'-o; apparently a primary verb (but probably akin to G142 through the idea of raising a barrier); properly, to ward off, i.e. (by implication) to avail (figuratively, be satisfactory):—be content, be enough, suffice, be sufficient.]

b. [with] such things as ye have [Strong: 3918 páreimi, par'-i-mee; from G3844 and G1510 (including its various forms); to be near, i.e. at hand; neuter present participle (singular) time being, or (plural) property:—come, × have, be here, + lack, (be here) present.]

3. “...for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”

a. for [Strong: 1063 gár, gar; a primary particle; properly, assigning a reason (used in argument, explanation or intensification; often with other particles):—and, as, because (that), but, even, for, indeed, no doubt, seeing, then, therefore, verily, what, why, yet.]

b. he [Strong: 846 autós, ow-tos'; from the particle αὖ aû (perhaps akin to the base of G109 through the idea of a baffling wind) (backward); the reflexive pronoun self, used (alone or in the comparative G1438) of the third person , and (with the proper personal pronoun) of the other persons:—her, it(-self), one, the other, (mine) own, said, (self-), the) same, ((him-, my-, thy- )self, (your-)selves, she, that, their(-s), them(-selves), there(-at, - by, -in, -into, -of, -on, -with), they, (these) things, this (man), those, together, very, which.]

c. [hath] said [Strong: 2046  eréō, er-eh'-o; probably a fuller form of G4483; an alternate for G2036 in certain tenses; to utter, i.e. speak or say:—call, say, speak (of), tell.]

d. [I] will never [Strong: 3364 ou mḗ, oo may; i.e. G3756 and G3361; a double negative strengthening the denial; not at all:—any more, at all, by any (no) means, neither, never, no (at all), in no case (wise), nor ever, not (at all, in any wise).]

e. leave [Strong: 447  aníēmi, an-ee'-ay-mee; from G303 and ἵημι híēmi (to send); to let up, i.e. (literally) slacken or (figuratively) desert, desist from:—forbear, leave, loose.]

  

f. thee [Strong: 4571 sé, seh; accusative case singular of G4771; thee:—thee, thou, × thy house.]

g. nor [Strong: 3761 oudé, oo-deh'; from G3756 and G1161; not however, i.e. neither, nor, not even:—neither (indeed), never, no (more, nor, not), nor (yet), (also, even, then) not (even, so much as), + nothing, so much as.]

h. [Strong: 3364 ou mḗ, oo may; i.e. G3756 and G3361; a double negative strengthening the denial; not at all:—any more, at all, by any (no) means, neither, never, no (at all), in no case (wise), nor ever, not (at all, in any wise).]
