Hebrews 13:3

Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.

a. ASV: Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; them that are ill-treated, as being yourselves also in the body.

  

b. YLT: Be mindful of those in bonds, as having been bound with them, of those maltreated, as also yourselves being in the body;

d. Amplified Bible Classic: Remember those who are in prison as if you were their fellow prisoner, and those who are ill-treated, since you also are liable to bodily sufferings.

1. “Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them…”

a. Remember [Strong: 3403 mimnḗskō, mim-nace'-ko; a prolonged form of G3415 (from which some of the tenses are borrowed); to remind, i.e. (middle voice) to recall to mind:—be mindful, remember.]

b. [them] that are in bonds [Strong: 1198  désmios, des'-mee-os; from G1199; a captive (as bound):—in bonds, prisoner.]

c. as [Strong: 5613  hōs, hoce; probably adverb of comparative from G3739; which how, i.e. in that manner (very variously used, as follows):—about, after (that), (according) as (it had been, it were), as soon (as), even as (like), for, how (greatly), like (as, unto), since, so (that), that, to wit, unto, when(-soever), while, × with all speed.]

d. bound with them [Strong: 4887 syndéō, soon-deh'-o; from G4862 and G1210; to bind with, i.e. (passively) be a fellow-prisoner (figuratively):—be bound with.]

2. “...and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.”

a. [and] them [Strong: 3588 ho ho, including the feminine he hay, and the neuter to to in all their inflections; the definite article; the (sometimes to be supplied, at others omitted, in English idiom):--the, this, that, one, he, she, it, etc.] [Thayer: [Ton] ὁ, ἡ, τό, originally τος, τῇ, τό (as is evident from the forms τοι, ται for οἱ, αἱ in Homer and the Ionic writings), corresponds to our definite article the (German der, die, das), which is properly a demonstrative pronoun, which we see in its full force in Homer, and of which we find certain indubitable traces also in all kinds of Greek prose, and hence also in the N. T.]

b. [which] suffer adversity [Strong: 2558 kakouchéō, kak-oo-kheh'-o; from a presumed compound of G2556 and G2192; to maltreat:—which suffer adversity, torment.]

c. as [Strong: 5613  hōs, hoce; probably adverb of comparative from G3739; which how, i.e. in that manner (very variously used, as follows):—about, after (that), (according) as (it had been, it were), as soon (as), even as (like), for, how (greatly), like (as, unto), since, so (that), that, to wit, unto, when(-soever), while, × with all speed.]

d. being [Strong: 5607 ṓn, oan; present participle of G1510; being:—be, come, have.]

e. yourselves [Strong: 846 autós, ow-tos'; from the particle αὖ aû (perhaps akin to the base of G109 through the idea of a baffling wind) (backward); the reflexive pronoun self, used (alone or in the comparative G1438) of the third person , and (with the proper personal pronoun) of the other persons:—her, it(-self), one, the other, (mine) own, said, (self-), the) same, ((him-, my-, thy- )self, (your-)selves, she, that, their(-s), them(-selves), there(-at, - by, -in, -into, -of, -on, -with), they, (these) things, this (man), those, together, very, which.]

  

f. also [Strong: 2532 kaí, kahee; apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection (or composition) with other particles or small words:—and, also, both, but, even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet.]
