Luke 2:46

And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions.

a. NLT: Three days later they finally discovered him in the Temple, sitting among the religious teachers, listening to them and asking questions.

b. NIV: After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.

c. Amplified Bible: After three days they found Him [came upon Him] in the [court of the] temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.

d. Young’s Literal Translation: And it came to pass, after three days, they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both hearing them and questioning them,

1. “And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple…”

1). We know that at this time of Christ Jesus’ life he knew that God was his father. We also know from the next verse that the wisdom and knowledge Jesus had far surpassed anyone of his day, even at the age of twelve.

2). Luke 2:47 And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.
