But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand;

1. “But he refused, and said unto his master's wife…”

1). Praise God. What a godly man. What a strong manly Christ-like response to temptation. Glory to God. But he does not stop there. 

a).Genesis 39:8, 9 But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand;

39:9 There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?

2). Jesus is the perfect man. If we as believers want to be a real man, then we need to by the grace of God, walk in obedience to the word.

a). Ephesians 4:8-13 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

4:9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

4:10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
