e. the people [Strong: `am

h. the house of God [Beth-el]
[Strong: 1008 * Beyth-'El bayth-ale' from 1004 and 410; house of God; Beth-El,
a place in Palestine:--Beth-el.]
1). Though I can’t read
Hebrew, I can compare letters in a clumsy way. The Strong’s cite had the Hebrew
words for house and God and for Beth-el which literally
means house of God, in their list of words for this verse. Looking through
the verse I could not find the Hebrew words house or God, but I
did find the Hebrew word for Beth-el. All the translations I regularly cite say
Beth-el, the city, not the house of God. Probably if I went through a
bunch of commentators they would favor Beth-el the city. The problem is there
is not a Biblical record of the Tabernacle being moved from Shiloh to Beth-el
and then back to Shiloh. Just schools of thought differ.

make to) dwell(-ing), ease self, endure, establish, X fail, habitation, haunt,
(make to) inhabit(-ant), make to keep (house), lurking, X marry(-ing), (bring
again to) place, remain, return, seat, set(- tle), (down-)sit(-down, still,
-ting down, -ting (place) -uate), take, tarry.]
