And they commanded the people,
saying, When ye see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the
priests the Levites bearing it, then ye shall remove from your place, and go
after it.

“When you see the Levitical priests carrying the Ark of the Covenant of the LORD
your God, move out from your positions and follow them.
b. NIV: giving orders to the people: “When you see
the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the Levitical priests
carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it.

the ark of the covenant of Jehovah your God, and the priests, the Levites,

1). The officers commanded the people at the command
of Joshua, at the command of God.
2. “…When ye see the ark of the
covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests the Levites bearing it…”

1). During ordinary times of transporting the ark
from place to place as the whole nation was moving, the sons of Kohath carried the
ark as the LORD had commanded. But during time of war or great manifestations
of the power of God, the priests would carry the Ark.
a). Numbers 4:15 And when Aaron and his sons have made an end
of covering the sanctuary, and all the vessels of the sanctuary, as the camp is
to set forward; after that, the sons of Kohath shall come to bear it:
but they shall not touch any holy thing, lest they die. These things
are the burden of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation.
2). Under the New Covenant we are the priests and we
carrying the presence of God in our spirits.
a). 1 Peter 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built
up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices,
acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
b). 1 Peter 2:9: But ye are a chosen
generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye
should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into
his marvellous light:
c). 1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the
temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

your place, and go after it.”
