Romans 2:15

Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)

a. NLT: They demonstrate that God’s law is written in their hearts, for their own conscience and thoughts either accuse them or tell them they are doing right.

b. NIV: They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.)

1. “Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts…”

a. Which 3748 hostis hos'-tis, including the feminine hetis hay'-tis, and the neuter ho,ti hot'-ee from 3739 and 5100; which some, i.e. any that; also (definite) which same:--X and (they), (such) as, (they) that, in that they, what(-soever), whereas ye, (they) which, who(-soever).]

f. law [Strong: 3551 nomos nom'-os from a primary nemo (to parcel out, especially food or grazing to animals); law (through the idea of prescriptive usage), genitive case (regulation), specially, (of Moses (including the volume); also of the Gospel), or figuratively (a principle):--law.]

i. heart [Strong: 2588 kardia kar-dee'-ah prolonged from a primary kar (Latin cor, "heart"); the heart, i.e. (figuratively) the thoughts or feelings (mind); also (by analogy) the middle:--(+ broken-)heart(-ed).]

d. bearing witness [Strong: 4828 summartureo soom-mar-too-reh'-o from 4862 and 3140; to testify jointly, i.e. corroborate by (concurrent) evidence:--testify unto, (also) bear witness (with).]

f. [their] thoughts [Strong: 3053 logismos log-is-mos' from 3049; computation, i.e. (figuratively) reasoning (conscience, conceit):--imagination, thought.]

g. [the mean while] accusing [Strong: 2723 kategoreo kat-ay-gor-eh'-o from 2725; to be a plaintiff, i.e. to charge with some offence:--accuse, object.]

h. or [Strong: 2228 e ay a primary particle of distinction between two connected terms; disjunctive, or; comparative, than:--and, but (either), (n-)either, except it be, (n-)or (else), rather, save, than, that, what, yea. Often used in connection with other particles.]

j. excusing [Strong: 626 apologeomai ap-ol-og-eh'-om-ahee middle voice from a compound of 575 and 3056; to give an account (legal plea) of oneself, i.e. exculpate (self):--answer (for self), make defence, excuse (self), speak for self.]

k. one another  [Strong: 3342 metaxu met-ax-oo' from 3326 and a form of 4862; betwixt (of place or person); (of time) as adjective, intervening, or (by implication) adjoining:--between, mean while, next.]

l. one another another [240 allelon al-lay'-lone Genitive plural from 243 reduplicated; one another:--each other, mutual, one another, (the other), (them-, your-)selves, (selves) together (sometimes with 3326 or 4314).]
