the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the

dead, and eternal judgment.
b. NIV: Instruction about cleansing
rites, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal
judgment.

judgment age-during,
d. Amplified Bible Classic: With
teachings about purifying, the laying on of hands, the resurrection from the
dead, and eternal judgment and punishment. [These are all matters of
which you should have been fully aware long, long ago.]
e. Worrell Translation: Of the
teaching of immersions, and laying on of hands, of a resurrection of the dead,
and of eternal judgment.
f. Wuest Translation: Of the
teaching of ablutions, and of imposition of hands, of a resurrection of the

1.
“Of the doctrine of baptisms…”
a. Of the doctrine [Strong: 1322 didache
did-akh-ay' from 1321; instruction (the act or the matter):--doctrine,
hath been taught.]
b. of baptisms [Strong: 909 baptismos
bap-tis-mos' from 907; ablution (ceremonial or Christian):--baptism,
washing.]
1). Kenneth E. Hagin, Laying on of
Hands mini booklet: Notice this is in the plural. There are three baptisms
spoken in the New Testament. First, there is the New Birth. When one is born
again, he or she is baptized by the Holy Spirit into the Body of Chrsit.
Second, there is water baptism, which is an outward sign of an inward grace.
Third, there is the baptism in the Holy Spirit with the Bible evidence of
speaking in other tongues.
2.
“…and of laying on of hands…”
a. and [Strong 5037 te teh
a primary particle (enclitic) of connection or addition; both or also
(properly, as correlation of 2532):--also, and, both, even, then, whether.
Often used in composition, usually as the latter participle.]
b. of laying on [Strong: 1936 epithesis
ep-ith'-es-is from 2007; an imposition (of hands officially):--laying
(putting) on.]
c. of hands [Strong: 5495 cheir
khire perhaps from the base of 5494 in the sense of its congener the
base of 5490 (through the idea of hollowness for grasping); the hand (literally
or figuratively (power); especially (by Hebraism) a means or
instrument):--hand.]
1). Transference of sin and
imperfections:
a). Exodus 29:10, 15, 19.
2). Transfer of anointing and power
and spirit.
a). Deuteronomy 34:9 And Joshua the
son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon
him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as the Lord commanded
Moses.
3). Kenneth E. Hagin: The most
common practice is laying hands on those are being ordained and separated unto
the ministry. Something mighty occurs when men of faith lay hands in the Name
of Jesus upon those who, in faith, receive the impartation.
a). Acts 13:2, 3 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted,
the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I
have called them.
13:3 And when they had fasted and
prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.

“…and of resurrection of the dead…”
a. and [Strong 5037 te teh
a primary particle (enclitic) of connection or addition; both or also
(properly, as correlation of 2532):--also, and, both, even, then, whether.
Often used in composition, usually as the latter participle.]
b. of resurrection [Strong: 386 anastasis
an-as'-tas-is from 450; a standing up again, i.e. (literally) a
resurrection from death (individual, genitive case or by implication, (its
author)), or (figuratively) a (moral) recovery (of spiritual truth):--raised to
life again, resurrection, rise from the dead, that should rise, rising again.]
c. of the dead [Strong: 3498 nekros
nek-ros' from an apparently primary nekus (a corpse); dead (literally or
figuratively; also as noun):--dead.]
1). There are a number of
resurrections in Scripture. In 1 Corinthians 15 Paul spent almost the whole
chapter defending the resurrection and in that chapter he mentions three.
a). 1 Corinthians 15:22-24 For as
in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
15:23 But every man in his own
order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
15:24 Then cometh the end, when he
shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have
put down all rule and all authority and power.
2). Jesus mentioned the general
resurrections and Daniel does as well.
a). John 5:28, 29 Marvel not at
this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall
hear his voice,
5:29 And shall come forth; they
that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done
evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
b). Daniel 12:2 And many of them
that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and
some to shame and everlasting contempt.
4.
“…and of eternal judgment.”
a. and [Strong: 2532 kai kahee
apparently, a primary particle, having a copulative and sometimes also a
cumulative force; and, also, even, so then, too, etc.; often used in connection
(or composition) with other particles or small words:--and, also, both, but,
even, for, if, or, so, that, then, therefore, when, yet.]
b. of eternal [Strong: 166 aionios
ahee-o'-nee-os from 165; perpetual (also used of past time, or past and
future as well):--eternal, for ever, everlasting, world (began).]
c. judgment [Strong: 2917 krima
kree'-mah from 2919; a decision (the function or the effect, for or
against ("crime")):--avenge, condemned, condemnation, damnation, + go
to law, judgment.]
1). There are judgments mentioned
in Scripture.
a). Daniel 7:9, 10 I beheld till
the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was
white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like
the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire.
7:10 A fiery stream issued and came
forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand
times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were
opened.
b). Romans 14:10-12 But why dost
thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we
shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
14:11 For it is written, As I live,
saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to
God.
14:12 So then every one of us shall
give account of himself to God.
c). Revelation 14:9-11 And the
third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the
beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
14:10 The same shall drink of the
wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of
his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the
presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
14:11 And the smoke of their
torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night,
who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his
name.
