Ephesians 4:16

From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

a. NLT: He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.

b. NIV: From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

c. YLT: From whom the whole body, being fitly joined together and united, through the supply of every joint, according to the working in the measure of each single part, the increase of the body doth make for the building up of itself in love.

d. Amplified Bible Classic: For because of Him the whole body (the church, in all its various parts), closely joined and firmly knit together by the joints and ligaments with which it is supplied, when each part [with power adapted to its need] is working properly [in all its functions], grows to full maturity, building itself up in love.

e. Worrell Translation: From whom all the body, fitly framed and knit together through evry joint of supply, according to the working in due measures of each single part, secures the growth of the body to the upbuilding of itself in love.

Wuest Translation: From whom all the Body constantly being joined closely together and constantlybeing knit together through every joint of supplyaccording to the operative energy put forth to the capacity of each part, makes for increased growth of the Body resulting in the building up itself in the sphereof love.

g. Peshitta Eastern Text: It is through him that the whole body is closely and firmly united at all joints, according to the measure of the gift which is given to every member, for the guidance and control of the body, in order to complete the edifying of the body in love.

1. “From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth…”

a. 1). In the passage in Colossians 2:19 passage the body grows from the nourishment that God supplies.

a). Colossians 2:19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.

2. “…according to the effectual working in the measure of every part…”
