Ephesians 5:30

For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

a. YLT: Because members we are of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones;

c. Darby Translation: For we are members of his body; we are of his flesh, and of his bones.

1. “For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.”

a. For [Strong: 3754 hóti, hot'-ee; neuter of G3748 as conjunction; demonstrative, that (sometimes redundant); causative, because:—as concerning that, as though, because (that), for (that), how (that), (in) that, though, why.]

b. we are [Strong: 2070 esmén, es-men'; first person plural indicative of G1510; we are:—are, be, have our being, × have hope, + (the gospel) was (preached unto) us.]

c. members [Strong: 3196 mélos, mel'-os; of uncertain affinity; a limb or part of the body:—member.]

d. of his [Strong: 846 autós, ow-tos'; from the particle αὖ aû (perhaps akin to the base of G109 through the idea of a baffling wind) (backward); the reflexive pronoun self, used (alone or in the comparative G1438) of the third person , and (with the proper personal pronoun) of the other persons:—her, it(-self), one, the other, (mine) own, said, (self-), the) same, ((him-, my-, thy- )self, (your-)selves, she, that, their(-s), them(-selves), there(-at, - by, -in, -into, -of, -on, -with), they, (these) things, this (man), those, together, very, which.]
