And for the precious fruits brought forth by the sun, and for the precious things put forth by the moon,

1. “And for the precious fruits brought forth by the sun…”


a. [And for the] precious [Strong: 4022 meged, meh'-ghed; from an unused root probably meaning to be eminent; properly, a distinguished thing; hence something valuable, as a product or fruit:—pleasant, precious fruit (thing).]


a. fruits [Strong: 8393 tᵉbûwʼâh, teb-oo-aw'; from H935; income, i.e. produce (literally or figuratively):—fruit, gain, increase, revenue.]


b. [brought forth by the] sun [Strong: 8121 shemesh, sheh'-mesh; from an unused root meaning to be brilliant; the sun; by implication, the east; figuratively, a ray, i.e. (architectural) a notched battlement:— east side(-ward), sun (rising), west(-ward), window.]


1). This of course is referring to how fruit and vegetable crops are affected by the sun. This is the witness of God that He loves the earth and everyone in it.


). Acts 14:17 Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.

 

2. “…and for the precious things put forth by the moon.”

b. put forth [Strong: 1645 geresh, gheh'-resh; from H1644; produce (as if expelled):—put forth.]


c. [by the] moon [Strong: 3391 yerach, yeh'-rakh; from an unused root of uncertain significance; a lunation, i.e. month:—month, moon.]
