Psalm 90:2

Psalm 90:2

Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

d. Septuagint [Psalm 90:2 in our Bible is Psalm 89:2 in the Septuagint]:Before the mountains existed, and [before] the earth and the world were formed, even from age to age, Thou art. 

e. Stone Edition Torah/Prophets/ Writings: Before the mountains were born and You had not yet fashioned the earth and the inhabited land, and from the remotest past and to the most distant future, You are God.

1. “Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world…”

a. Before [Strong: 2962 terem teh'-rem from an unused root apparently meaning to interrupt or suspend; properly, non-occurrence; used adverbially, not yet or before:--before, ere, not yet.]

b. [the] mountains [Strong: 2022 har har a shortened form of 2042; a mountain or range of hills (sometimes used figuratively):--hill (country), mount(-ain), X promotion.]

c. [were] brought forth [Strong: 3205 yalad yaw-lad' a primitive root; to bear young; causatively, to beget; medically, to act as midwife; specifically, to show lineage:--bear, beget, birth((-day)), born, (make to) bring forth (children, young), bring up, calve, child, come, be delivered (of a child), time of delivery, gender, hatch, labour, (do the office of a) midwife, declare pedigrees, be the son of, (woman in, woman that) travail(-eth, -ing woman).]

d. [or ever thou hadst] formed [Strong: 2342 chuwl khool or chiyl {kheel}; a primitive root; properly, to twist or whirl (in a circular or spiral manner), i.e. (specifically) to dance, to writhe in pain (especially of parturition) or fear; figuratively, to wait, to pervert:--bear, (make to) bring forth, (make to) calve, dance, drive away, fall grievously (with pain), fear, form, great, grieve, (be) grievous, hope, look, make, be in pain, be much (sore) pained, rest, shake, shapen, (be) sorrow(-ful), stay, tarry, travail (with pain), tremble, trust, wait carefully (patiently), be wounded.]

e. [the] earth [Strong: 776 'erets eh'-rets from an unused root probably meaning to be firm; the earth (at large, or partitively a land):--X common, country, earth, field, ground, land, X natins, way, + wilderness, world.]

f. [and the] world [Strong: 8398 tebel tay-bale' from 2986; the earth (as moist and therefore inhabited); by extension, the globe; by implication, its inhabitants; specifically, a partic. land, as Babylonia, Palestine:--habitable part, world.]

1). This of course is pre Genesis 1:1.

a). Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2.  “…even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.”

a. [even from] everlasting [Strong: 5769 `owlam o-lawm' or lolam {o-lawm'}; from 5956; properly, concealed, i.e. the vanishing point; generally, time out of mind (past or future), i.e. (practically) eternity; frequentatively, adverbial (especially with prepositional prefix) always:--alway(-s), ancient (time), any more, continuance, eternal, (for, (n-))ever(-lasting, -more, of old), lasting, long (time), (of) old (time), perpetual, at any time, (beginning of the) world (+ without end).] [Gesenius: long duration, antiquity, futurity, for ever, ever, everlasting, evermore, perpetual, old, ancient, world ancient time, long time (of past), (of future), forever, always, continuous existence, perpetual, everlasting, indefinite or unending future, eternity.]

b. to [Strong: 5704 `ad ad properly, the same as 5703 (used as a preposition, adverb or conjunction; especially with a preposition); as far (or long, or much) as, whether of space (even unto) or time (during, while, until) or degree (equally with):--against, and, as, at, before, by (that), even (to), for(-asmuch as), (hither-)to, + how long, into, as long (much) as, (so) that, till, toward, until, when, while, (+ as) yet.]

e. God [Strong: 410 'el ale shortened from 352; strength; as adjective, mighty; especially the Almighty (but used also of any deity):--God (god), X goodly, X great, idol, might(-y one), power, strong.]

1). What a appropriate description give to the Most High…from everlasting and eternal past to everlasting and eternal future you are God! Because He is from the everlasting past unto the everlasting future, He literally dwells in eternity.

a). Isaiah 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

2). He is the everlasting God whose throne has been from everlasting from eternity past.

a). Isaiah 40:28 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

b). Psalm 93:2 Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting. 

3). The prophet Micah when prophesying of the birth of the Messiah described Him in these same words. 

a). Micah 5:2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

b). The “goings forth” of the pre-incarnate Jesus Christ have been “from of old from everlasting”. From eternity past.
