And for the chief things of the ancient mountains, and for the precious things of the lasting hills,

1. “And for the chief things of the ancient mountains…”

a. [And for the] chief things [Strong: 7218 rôʼsh, roshe; from an unused root apparently meaning to shake; the head (as most easily shaken), whether literal or figurative (in many applications, of place, time, rank, etc.):—band, beginning, captain, chapiter, chief(-est place, man, things), company, end, × every (man), excellent, first, forefront, (be-)head, height, (on) high(-est part, (priest)), × lead, × poor, principal, ruler, sum, top.]

b. [of the] ancient [Strong: 6924 qedem, keh'-dem; or קֵדְמָה qêdᵉmâh; from H6923; the front, of place (absolutely, the fore part, relatively the East) or time (antiquity); often used adverbially (before, anciently, eastward):—aforetime, ancient (time), before, east (end, part, side, -ward), eternal, × ever(-lasting), forward, old, past.]

2. “…and for the precious things of the lasting hills.”

a. [and for the] precious things [Strong: 4022 meged, meh'-ghed; from an unused root probably meaning to be eminent; properly, a distinguished thing; hence something valuable, as a product or fruit:—pleasant, precious fruit (thing).] [Gesenius: something very precious or noble.] [AMG: a choice thing, the best thing, fruit and all kinds of produce from the land and heaven, it indicates precious valuables or gifts of all kinds.]

b. [of the] lasting [Strong: 5769 ʻôwlâm, o-lawm'; or עֹלָם ʻôlâm; from H5956; properly, concealed, i.e. the vanishing point; generally, time out of mind (past or future), i.e. (practically) eternity; frequentatively, adverbial (especially with prepositional prefix) always:—alway(-s), ancient (time), any more, continuance, eternal, (for, (n-)) ever(-lasting, -more, of old), lasting, long (time), (of) old (time), perpetual, at any time, (beginning of the) world (+ without end).
