Psalm 149:4


For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.

1. “For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people…”


a. For [Strong: 3588 kiy kee a primitive particle (the full form of the prepositional prefix) indicating causal relations of all kinds, antecedent or consequent; (by implication) very widely used as a relative conjunction or adverb (as below); often largely modified by other particles annexed:--and, + (forasmuch, inasmuch, where-)as, assured(-ly), + but, certainly, doubtless, + else, even, + except, for, how, (because, in, so, than) that, + nevertheless, now, rightly, seeing, since, surely, then, therefore, + (al- )though, + till, truly, + until, when, whether, while, whom, yea, yet.]


b. [the] LORD [Strong: 3068 Yhovah yeh-ho-vaw' from 1961; (the) self-Existent or Eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God:--Jehovah, the Lord.]


c. b. In light of the above definition of the word “pleasure”, we must look at other passages that reveal God’s heart toward us.]


d.  [in his] people [Strong: 5971 `am am from 6004; a people (as a congregated unit); specifically, a tribe (as those of Israel); hence (collectively) troops or attendants; figuratively, a flock:--folk, men, nation, people.]


1). Psalm 139:17, 18  How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them!

139:18 If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.


2). Psalm 40:5 Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.


a). We must realize that God word says that His thoughts toward us are not only innumerable but also full of love and mercy. We are highly valued and highly prized to Him.  

 

2. “…he will beautify the meek with salvation.”


a.
