1 Timothy 5:8

1 Timothy 5:8

But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

a. ASV: But if any provideth not for his own, and specially his own household, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.

b. YLT: And if any one for his own -- and especially for those of the household -- doth not provide, the faith he hath denied, and than an unbeliever he is worse.
d. Amplified Bible Classic: If anyone fails to provide for his relatives, and especially for those of his own family, he has disowned the faith [by failing to accompany it with fruits] and is worse than an unbeliever [who performs his obligation in these matters].
1. “But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house…”

g. specially [Strong: 3122 málista, mal'-is-tah; neuter plural of the superlative of an apparently primary adverb μάλα mála (very); (adverbially) most (in the greatest degree) or particularly:—chiefly, most of all, (e-)specially.]
h. [for those of his own] house [Strong: 3609 oikeîos, oy-ki'-os; from G3624; domestic, i.e. (as noun), a relative, adherent:—(those) of the (his own) house(-hold).]
