Hebrews 4:10

For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.

a. ASV: For he that is entered into his rest hath himself also rested from his works, as God did from his.

  

b. YLT: For he who did enter into his rest, he also rested from his works, as God from His own.

d. Amplified Bible Classic: For he who has once entered [God’s] rest also has ceased from [the weariness and pain] of human labors, just as God rested from those labors peculiarly His own.

1.  “For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works…”

2. “...as God did from his.”

1). This is referring to God resting on the seventh day from His work of Creation.

a). Genesis 2:1-3 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.]

2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
