Hebrews 7:28

For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.

a. ASV: For the law appointeth men high priests, having infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was after the law, appointeth a Son, perfected for evermore.
  
b. YLT: Or the law doth appoint men chief priests, having infirmity, but the word of the oath that is after the law appointeth the Son -- to the age having been perfected.
d. Amplified Bible Classic: For the Law sets up men in their weakness [frail, sinful, dying human beings] as high priests, but the word of [God’s] oath, which [was spoken later] after the institution of the Law, [chooses and appoints as priest One Whose appointment is complete and permanent], a Son Who has been made perfect forever.
1. “For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity…”

a. For gár, gar; a primary particle; properly, assigning a reason (used in argument, explanation or intensification; often with other particles):—and, as, because (that), but, even, for, indeed, no doubt, seeing, then, therefore, verily, what, why, yet.]

f. high priests [Strong: 749 archiereús, ar-khee-er-yuce'; from G746 and G2409; the high-priest (literally, of the Jews, typically, Christ); by extension a chief priest:—chief (high) priest, chief of the priests.]

2.  “...but the word of the oath, which was since the law…”

1). The “word of the oath” was prophesied during the law, in particular when David wrote Psalm 110.

a). Psalm 110:4 The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.

2). It was actually sworn after the law, perhaps immediately after he said to Jesus, “Sit thou on my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool”.   

3. “...maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.”
