1 Timothy 6:7

1 Timothy 6:7

For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

a. ASV: For we brought nothing into the world, for neither can we carry anything out;

b. YLT: For nothing did we bring into the world -- it is manifest that we are able to carry nothing out;
d. Amplified Bible Classic: For we brought nothing into the world, and obviously we cannot take anything out of the world;
1. “For we brought nothing into this world…”

a. For [Strong: 1063 gár, gar; a primary particle; properly, assigning a reason (used in argument, explanation or intensification; often with other particles):—and, as, because (that), but, even, for, indeed, no doubt, seeing, then, therefore, verily, what, why, yet.]
b. [we] brought [Strong: 1533 eisphérō, ice-fer'-o; from G1519 and G5342; to carry inward (literally or figuratively):—bring (in), lead into.]
c. nothing [Strong: 3762 oudeís, oo-dice'; from G3761 and G1520; not even one (man, woman or thing), i.e. none, nobody, nothing:—any (man), aught, man, neither any (thing), never (man), no (man), none (+ of these things), not (any, at all, -thing), nought.]
d. into [Strong: 1519 eis, ice; a primary preposition; to or into (indicating the point reached or entered), of place, time, or (figuratively) purpose (result, etc.); also in adverbial phrases:—(abundant-)ly, against, among, as, at, (back-)ward, before, by, concerning, +continual, + far more exceeding, for (intent, purpose), fore, + forth, in (among, at, unto, -so much that, -to), to the intent that, + of one mind, + never, of, (up-)on, +perish, + set at one again, (so) that, therefore(-unto), throughout, til, to (be, the end, -ward), (here-)until(-to), …ward, (where-)fore, with.]
e. this [Strong: 3588 ho ho, including the feminine he hay, and the neuter to to in all their inflections; the definite article; the (sometimes to be supplied, at others omitted, in English idiom):--the, this, that, one, he, she, it, etc.]

f. world [Strong: 2889 kósmos, kos'-mos; probably from the base of G2865; orderly arrangement, i.e. decoration; by implication, the world (in a wide or narrow sense, including its inhabitants, literally or figuratively (morally)):—adorning, world.]

2. “...and it is certain we can carry nothing out.”

a. [and it is] certain [Strong: 1212 dēlos, day'-los; of uncertain derivation; clear:—+ bewray, certain, evident, manifest.]
b. [Strong: 3754 hóti, hot'-ee; neuter of G3748 as conjunction; demonstrative, that (sometimes redundant); causative, because:—as concerning that, as though, because (that), for (that), how (that), (in) that, though, why.]
c. we can [Strong: 1410 dýnamai, doo'-nam-ahee; of uncertain affinity; to be able or possible:—be able, can (do, + -not), could, may, might, be possible, be of power.]
d. carry...out [Strong: 1627 ekphérō, ek-fer'-o; from G1537 and G5342; to bear out (literally or figuratively):—bear, bring forth, carry forth (out).]
e. nothing [Strong: 3761 oudé, oo-deh'; from G3756 and G1161; not however, i.e. neither, nor, not even:—neither (indeed), never, no (more, nor, not), nor (yet), (also, even, then) not (even, so much as), + nothing, so much as.]
