Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

1. “Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters…” 


a. Backbiters [Strong: 2637 katálalos, kat-al'-al-os; from G2596 and the base of G2980; talkative against, i.e. a slanderer:—backbiter.] [Thayer: a defamer, evil speaker.]

 

b. haters of God [Strong: 2319 theostygḗs, theh-os-too-gace'; from G2316 and the base of G4767; hateful to God, i.e. impious:—hater of God.] [Thayer: hateful to God, exceptionally impious and wicked.]

 

c. despiteful [Strong: 5197 hybristḗs, hoo-bris-tace'; from G5195; an insulter, i.e. maltreater:—despiteful, injurious.] [Thayer: an insolent man, one who, uplifted with pride, either heaps insulting language upon others or does them some shameful act of wrong.]

 

d. proud [Strong: 5244 hyperḗphanos, hoop-er-ay'-fan-os; from G5228 and G5316; appearing above others (conspicuous), i.e. (figuratively) haughty:—proud.] [Thayer: showing one's self above others, overtopping, conspicuous above others, pre-eminent, with an overweening estimate of one's means or merits, despising others or even treating them with contempt, haughty.]

 

e. boasters [Strong: 213 alazṓn, al-ad-zone'; from ἄλη álē (vagrancy); braggart:—boaster.] [Thayer: an empty pretender, a boaster.]


2. “...inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,”


 a. inventors [Strong: 2182 epheuretḗs, ef-yoo-ret'-ace; from a compound of G1909 and G2147; a discoverer, i.e. contriver:—inventor.] [Thayer: an inventor, contriver.]

 

b. evil things [Strong: 2556 kakós, kak-os'; apparently a primary word; worthless (intrinsically, such; whereas G4190 properly refers to effects), i.e. (subjectively) depraved, or (objectively) injurious:—bad, evil, harm, ill, noisome, wicked.] [Thayer: of a bad nature, not such as it ought to be, of a mode of thinking, feeling, acting, base, wrong, wicked,  troublesome, injurious, pernicious, destructive, baneful.]

 

c. disobedient [Strong: 545 apeithḗs, ap-i-thace'; from G1 (as a negative particle) and G3982; unpersuadable, i.e. contumacious:—disobedient.] [Thayer: impersuasible, not compliant, disobedient, contumacious.]
