Exodus 24:2

And Moses alone shall come near the LORD: but they shall not come nigh; neither shall the people go up with him.

a. NLT: Only Moses is allowed to come near to the LORD. The others must not come near, and none of the other people are allowed to climb up the mountain with him.”

b. NIV: but Moses alone is to approach the LORD; the others must not come near. And the people may not come up with him.”

c. YLT: and Moses hath drawn nigh by himself unto Jehovah; and they draw not nigh, and the people go not up with him.

1. “And Moses alone shall come near the LORD…”

a. Moses [4872 * Mosheh] [Strong: from 4871; drawing out (of the water), i.e. rescued; Mosheh, the Israelite lawgiver:--Moses.]

b. alone shall come near [5066 * nagash] [Strong: a primitive root; to be or come (causatively, bring) near (for any purpose); euphemistically, to lie with a woman; as an enemy, to attack; relig. to worship; causatively, to present; figuratively, to adduce an argument; by reversal, to stand back:--(make to) approach (nigh), bring (forth, hither, near), (cause to) come (hither, near, nigh), give place, go hard (up), (be, draw, go) near (nigh), offer, overtake, present, put, stand.]

2. “…but they shall not come nigh; neither shall the people go up with him.”
