Genesis 21:16
And she went, and sat her down
over against him a
good way off, as it were a bowshot: for she said, Let me not see the death of
the child. And she sat over against him,
and lift up her voice, and wept.
a. NLT: Then she went and sat down by herself about a hundred
yards away. “I don’t want to watch the boy die,” she said, as she burst
into tears.
b. NIV: Then she went off and sat down about a bowshot
away, for she thought, “I cannot watch the boy die.” And as she sat there, she began to sob.
c. YLT: And
she goeth and sitteth by herself over-against, afar off, about a bow-shot, for
she said, 'Let me not look on the death of the lad;' and she sitteth
over-against, and lifteth up her voice, and weepeth.
d. Amplified
Bible: Then she went and sat down opposite him a good way off, about a bowshot,
for she said, Let me not see the death of the lad. And as she sat down opposite
him, he lifted up his voice and wept and she
raised her voice and wept.
e. Septuagint:
And she departed and sat down opposite him at a distance, as it were a
bow-shot, for she said, Surely I cannot see the death of my child: and she sat
opposite him, and the child cried aloud and wept.

down over against him a
good way off…”
a. And she

again, away, bear, bring, carry (away), come (away), depart, flow, +
follow(-ing), get (away, hence, him), (cause to, made) go (away, -ing, -ne,
