Genesis 21:17

And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is.

a. NLT: But God heard the boy crying, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven, “Hagar, what’s wrong? Do not be afraid! God has heard the boy crying as he lies there.

1. “And God heard the voice of the lad…”

a. d. of the lad [5288 * na`ar] [Strong: from 5287; (concretely) a boy (as active), from the age of infancy to adolescence; by implication, a servant; also (by interch. of sex), a girl (of similar latitude in age):--babe, boy, child, damsel (from the margin), lad, servant, young (man).]

1). Ishmael name means “God shall hear”. A prophetic name fulfilled hear and I believe in the future.

2). Ishmael [3458 * Yishma’me’l] [Strong:  from 8085 and 410; God will hear; Jishmael, the name of Abraham's oldest son, and of five Israelites:--Ishmael.]

2. “…and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her…”

a. and the angel [4397 * mal'ak] [Strong: from an unused root meaning to despatch as a deputy; a messenger; specifically, of God, i.e. an angel (also a prophet, priest or teacher):--ambassador, angel, king, messenger.]

b. of God [430 * 'elohiym] [Strong: plural of 433; gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative:--angels, X exceeding, God (gods)(-dess, -ly), X (very) great, judges, X mighty.]

c. called [7121 * qara'] [Strong: a primitive root (rather identical with 7122 through the idea of accosting a person met); to call out to (i.e. properly, address by name, but used in a wide variety of applications):--bewray (self), that are bidden, call (for, forth, self, upon), cry (unto), (be) famous, guest, invite, mention, (give) name, preach, (make) proclaim(- ation), pronounce, publish, read, renowned, say.]

d. to Hagar [1904 * Hagar] [Strong: of uncertain (perhaps foreign) derivation; Hagar, the mother of Ishmael:--Hagar.]

e. out of heaven [8064 * shamayim] Strong: dual of an unused singular shameh {shaw-meh'}; from an unused root meaning to be lofty; the sky (as aloft; the dual perhaps alluding to the visible arch in which the clouds move, as well as to the higher ether where the celestial bodies revolve):--air, X astrologer, heaven(-s).]

a. Hagar [1904 * Hagar] [Strong: of uncertain (perhaps foreign) derivation; Hagar, the mother of Ishmael:--Hagar.]

1). Though it is added in all the translations including the Jewish, the words “What aileth thee” are not in the Hebrew text. Perhaps there is an unknown Hebrew grammar issue that demands it. I am clueless, I just trust the scholars.
