Matthew 4:8
Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

1. “Again, the devil taketh him up…”
a. Again [Strong: 3825. palin pal'-in probably from the same as 3823 (through the idea of oscillatory repetition); (adverbially) anew, i.e. (of place) back, (of time) once more, or (conjunctionally) furthermore or on the other hand:--again.]
b. the [Strong: 3588. [ho] ho ho, including the feminine he hay, and the neuter to to in all their inflections; the definite article; the (sometimes to be supplied, at others omitted, in English idiom):--the, this, that, one, he, she, it, etc.] [Thayer: [ho] ὁ, ἡ, τό, originally τος, τῇ, τό (as is evident from the forms τοι, ται for οἱ, αἱ in Homer and the Ionic writings), corresponds to our definite article the (German der, die, das), which is properly a demonstrative pronoun, which we see in its full force in Homer, and of which we find certain indubitable traces also in all kinds of Greek prose, and hence also in the N. d. taketh...up [Strong: 3880. paralambano par-al-am-ban'-o from 3844 and 2983; to receive near, i.e. associate with oneself (in any familiar or intimate act or relation); by analogy, to assume an office; figuratively, to learn:--receive, take (unto, with).]
e. him [Strong: 846. autos ow-tos' from the particle au (perhaps akin to the base of 109 through the idea of a baffling wind) (backward); the reflexive pronoun self, used (alone or in the comparative 1438) of the third person , and (with the proper personal pronoun) of the other persons:--her, it(-self), one, the other, (mine) own, said, (self-), the) same, ((him-, my-, thy- )self, (your-)selves, she, that, their(-s), them(-selves), there(-at, - by, -in, -into, -of, -on, -with), they, (these) things, this (man), those, together, very, which.]
1). In this fragment of the verse it declares that Satan did something “again”. It says that the devil “taketh him up” AGAIN. The first time was in Matthew 4:5 where it says “the devil taketh him up”. In that verse the devil took up from the wilderness to Jerusalem. Here, the devil took him from Jerusalem to a high mountain.
2). Life and teachings of Christ, Gordon Lindsay, Volume One pp. 120, 121: The second temptation of Jesus was different from the first, and it involved an occurrence which some describe as a temptation of the fourth dimension. By some strange means, the person of the Lord was conveyed from the wilderness to the pinnacle of the temple in jerusalem...Since Satan possessed certain powers in the spirit realm, he was able to escort Jesus to the pinnacle of the temple, there to suggest a second temptation to Him.
3). It was not long after I got saved that I read the 4 gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John and linked this incident to some lying wonder associated with the UFO phenomenon. A phenomenon anchored in occultic practice. UFO literature is full of this kind of experiences. I was struck by it saying clearly that the devil took up and travelled distances with Jesus.
2. “...into an exceeding high mountain…”

1). The elevation of Jerusalem is 2474 feet. The highest peak in the mountains of Israel (West Bank is Mt. Nabi Yunis at 3379 feet) Mt. Hermon is 9232 feet. It is not stated where or what mountain Jesus was taken.
3. “...and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;”
