g. Peshitta Eastern Text: According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was entrusted to me.

1. “According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God…”

a. according [Strong: 2596 kata kat-ah'; a primary particle; (prepositionally) down (in place or time), in varied relations (according to the case (genitive, dative or accusative) with which it is joined):--about, according as (to), after, against, (when they were) X alone, among, and, X apart, (even, like) as (concerning, pertaining to touching), X aside, at, before, beyond, by, to the charge of, (charita-)bly, concerning, + covered, (dai-)ly, down, every, (+ far more) exceeding, X more excellent, for, from ... to, godly, in(-asmuch, divers, every, -to, respect of), ... by, after the manner of, + by any means, beyond (out of) measure, X mightily, more, X natural, of (up-)on (X part), out (of every), over against, (+ your) X own, + particularly, so, through(-oughout, -oughout every), thus, (un-)to(-gether, -ward), X uttermost, where(-by), with. In composition it retains many of these applications, and frequently denotes opposition, distribution, or intensity.] [Thayer: down from, through out, according to, toward, along.]

b. glorious [Strong: 1391 doxa dox'-ah; glory (as very apparent), in a wide application (literal or figurative, objective or subjective):--dignity, glory(-ious), honour, praise, worship.

c. gospel [Strong: 2098 euaggelion yoo-ang-ghel'-ee-on; a good message, i.e. the gospel:--gospel.]

d. blessed [Strong: 3107 makarios mak-ar'-ee-os; a prolonged form of the poetical makar (meaning the same); supremely blest; by extension, fortunate, well off:-- blessed, happy(X -ier).

e. God [Strong: 2316 theos theh'-os; of uncertain affinity; a deity, especially (with 3588) the supreme Divinity; figuratively, a magistrate; by Hebraism, very:--X exceeding, God, god(-ly, -ward).]

1). In the previous two verses, one of the messages the Apostle Paul is saying is that laws that forbid sinful behavior, such as lying, murder, kidnapping, and homosexuality are “good” and “sound doctrine”. Did you get that? Laws that forbid murder, lying, kidnapping, and homosexuality are sound doctrine. The Apostle does not stop there though; he goes on to say that those same laws are “according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God.” We must remember also that according to the Scripture, this gospel is an everlasting gospel. The laws that forbid these behaviors are not just for this dispensation but will be eternal.

a). Revelation 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

b). everlasting [Strong: 166 aionios ahee-o'-nee-os; perpetual (also used of past time, or past and future as well):--eternal, for ever, everlasting, world (began).] [Thayer: without beginning and end, that which always has been and always will be, without beginning, without end, never to cease, everlasting.]

2. “…which was committed to my trust.”

a. which [Strong: 3739 hos hos, including feminine he hay, and neuter ho ho; probably a primary word (or perhaps a form of the article 3588); the relatively (sometimes demonstrative) pronoun, who, which, what, that:--one, (an-, the) other, some, that, what, which, who(-m, -se), etc.]

b. committed to…trust [Strong: 4100 pisteuo pist-yoo'-o; from 4102; to have faith (in, upon, or with respect to, a person or thing), i.e. credit; by implication, to entrust (especially one's spiritual well-being to Christ):--believe(-r), commit (to trust), put in trust with.]

c. my [Strong: 1473 ego eg-o'; a primary pronoun of the first person I (only expressed when emphatic):--I, me.]

1). In the last chapter of this epistle Paul exhorted Timothy about what was committed to his trust.

a). 1 Timothy 6:20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:

b). keep [Strong: 5442 phulasso foo-las'-so probably from 5443 through the idea of isolation; to watch, i.e. be on guard (literally of figuratively); by implication, to preserve, obey, avoid:--beward, keep (self), observe, save.] [Thayer: to guard, to watch, keep watch, to guard or watch, have an eye upon: lest he escape, to guard a person (or thing) that he may remain safe, lest he suffer violence, be despoiled, etc. to protect, to protect one from a person or thing, to keep from being snatched away, preserve safe and unimpaired, to guard from being lost or perishing, to guard one's self from a thing, to guard i.e. care for, take care not to violate, to observe, to observe for one's self something to escape, to avoid, shun flee from, to guard for one's self (i.e. for one's safety's sake) so as not to violate, i.e. to keep, observe (the precepts of the Mosaic law)]

2). It is necessary to look at the context of what Paul is saying through the inspiration of the Holy Ghost.

a). 1 Timothy 1:9-11 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
1:10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;
1:11 According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.

b). When ministers, churches, individual Christians fight for and promote homosexual rights (the right to engage in homosexual conduct, homosexual marriage, etc.) they are not upholding the gospel, they are fighting against the gospel. They are feeding the perverse spirit that will eventually try to destroy the gospel.
