1 Timothy 5:24
Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after.
a. NLT: Remember, the sins of some people are obvious, leading them to certain judgment. But there are others whose sins will not be revealed until later.

1. “Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment…”
a. 2. “…and some men they follow after.”

1). The reason the final judgment is not until the very end, is because in all cases, the effect of our sins goes on after our death. For instance, Darwin’s theory of evolution is still to this day influencing people to not believe the Scriptures. As a result, though his death was in 1882, the tally against him continues to go up, because his philosophy is still influencing people today to disbelieve the gospel. It is the same with men and women of God. There are men and women of God who died years ago yet their works will follow them to heaven. Perhaps it was a ministry or a Bible school they began and after their death others continue it in their name. The works of the school or ministry will follow them to heaven. Names like Kenneth E. Hagin, Gordon Lindsay and others, who long after they have gone on to be with the Lord are still influencing lives for the glory of God.
2). It is the same with our lives, but perhaps on a smaller scale. We must live our lives in light of the fact we are going to stand before the Lord and answer for the things we did in our body. We must live with eternity in view.
a). 2 Corinthians 5:6-10 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
5:9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
b). Revelation 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them.
