Acts 8:3
As
for Saul, he made havoc of the church, entering into every house, and haling
men and women committed them to prison.

“As for Saul, he made havoc of the church…”
a. havoc [3075 * lumainomai] [Zodhiates: To
ravage, waste, metaphorically to disgrace as by insult, treat with indignity.]
b. Paul described his efforts to destroy the
church in his testimony before King Agrippa.
1). Acts 26:9-11 I verily thought with
myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of
Nazareth.
Which thing I also did in Jerusalem: and many
of the saints did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief
priests; and when they were put to death, I gave my voice against them.
And I punished them oft in every synagogue,
and compelled them to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I
persecuted them even unto strange cities.

prison.”
a. Acts 8:3 [New Living Translation] But Saul
was going everywhere to destroy the church. He went from house to house,
dragging out both men and women to throw them into prison.
b. Every home that was suspected of holding
believers of the Messiah Jesus was raided, and they were drug into Jewish
court.
