Hebrews 6:9

But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.

a. NLT: Dear friends, even though we are talking this way, we really don’t believe it applies to you. We are confident that you are meant for better things, things that come with salvation.

b. NIV: Even though we speak like this, dear friends, we are convinced of better things in your case—the things that have to do with salvation.

c. YLT: and we are persuaded, concerning you, beloved, the things that are better, and accompanying salvation, though even thus we speak,

d. Amplified Bible: Even though we speak this way, yet in your case, beloved, we are now firmly convinced of better things that are near to salvation and accompany it.

e. Worrell Translation: But beloved, we have become persuaded better things concerning you, and things accompanying salvation, even though we thus speak.

1. “But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you…”

1). There are things that will accompany salvation.

a). James 2:17, 18 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

3:8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:

3:9 And think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.

3:10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
