Genesis 23:12

 And Abraham bowed down himself before the people of the land.

a. NLT: Abraham again bowed low before the citizens of the land,

b. NIV: Again Abraham bowed down before the people of the land

1. “And Abraham bowed down himself before the people of the land.”

a. Abraham [85 * 'Abraham] [Strong: contracted from 1 and an unused root (probably meaning to be populous); father of a multitude; Abraham, the later name of Abram:--Abraham.]

b. bowed down [7812 * shachah] [Strong: a primitive root; to depress, i.e. prostrate (especially reflexive, in homage to royalty or God):--bow (self) down, crouch, fall down (flat), humbly beseech, do (make) obeisance, do reverence, make to stoop, worship.]
