Genesis 24:10

And the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master were in his hand: and he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, unto the city of Nahor.

a. NLT: Then he loaded ten of Abraham’s camels with all kinds of expensive gifts from his master, and he traveled to distant Aram-naharaim. There he went to the town where Abraham’s brother Nahor had settled.

1). This may reflect that the servant, whom Jewish tradition identifies as Eliezer, the same Eliezer in Genesis 15:2, made the decision himself to take the ten camels and whatever other goods he decided to take to convince the family.

2). Stone Edition Chumash under Genesis 24:10: In order to influence his relatives to allow their daughter to marry Isaac, Abraham wrote all of his fortune to Isaac and gave Eliezer the deed to show to the propective in-laws (Rashi).

3. “…and he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, unto the city of Nahor.”
