Genesis 24:63

And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide: and he lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, the camels were coming.

a. NLT: One evening as he was walking and meditating in the fields, he looked up and saw the camels coming.

b. NIV: He went out to the field one evening to meditate,[fn] and as he looked up, he saw camels approaching.

c. YLT: and Isaac goeth out to meditate in the field, at the turning of the evening, and he lifteth up his eyes, and looketh, and lo, camels are coming.

1). This is not the same Hebrew word for “meditate” used in Joshua 1:8 or Psalm 1:2.

2). Stone Edition Chumash Torah: This was the propitious site where Hagar’ prayers had once been answered, and it was there that Isaac had gone to pray. Even before he prayed, his needs were answered, and his bride was already approaching Haran, in the manner of Isaiah 65:24 “…when they have not yet called I will answer, Sforno).

d. in the field [7704 * sadeh; or saday] [Strong: from an unused root meaning to spread out; a field (as flat):--country, field, ground, land, soil, X wild.]

e. at the eventide [6153 * `ereb] [Strong: from 6150; dusk:--+ day, even(-ing, tide), night.]
