Isaiah 11:6

The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

a. NLT: In that day the wolf and the lamb will live together; the leopard will lie down with the baby goat. The calf and the yearling will be safe with the lion, and a little child will lead them all.

b. NIV: The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them.

c. YLT: And a wolf hath sojourned with a lamb, And a leopard with a kid doth lie down, And calf, and young lion, and fatling are together, And a little youth is leader over them.

1. “The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb…”

a. the wolf [2061 * z'eb] [Strong: from an unused root meaning to be yellow; a wolf:--wolf.]

b. shall also dwell [1481 * guwr] [Strong: a primitive root; properly, to turn aside from the road (for a lodging or any other purpose), i.e. sojourn (as a guest); also to shrink, fear (as in a strange place); also to gather for hostility (as afraid):--abide, assemble, be afraid, dwell, fear, gather (together), inhabitant, remain, sojourn, stand in awe, (be) stranger, X surely.]

c. the lamb [3532 * kebes] [Strong: from an unused root meaning to dominate; a ram (just old enough to butt):--lamb, sheep.]

2. “…and the leopard shall lie down with the kid…”

a. and the leopard [5246 * namer] [Strong: from an unused root meaning properly, to filtrate, i.e. be limpid (comp 5247 and 5249); and thus to spot or stain as if by dripping; a leopard (from its stripes):--leopard.]

b. shall lie down [7257 * rabats] [Strong: a primitive root; to crouch (on all four legs folded, like a recumbent animal); be implication, to recline, repose, brood, lurk, imbed:--crouch (down), fall down, make a fold, lay, (cause to, make to) lie (down), make to rest, sit.]

c. with the kid [1423 * gdiy] [Strong: from the same as 1415; a young goat (from browsing):--kid.]

3. “…and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together…”

a. and the calf [5695 * `egel] [Strong: from the same as 5696; a (male) calf (as frisking round), especially one nearly grown (i.e. a steer):--bullock, calf.]

b. and the young lion [3715 * kphiyr kef-eer' from 3722; a village (as covered in by walls); also a young lion (perhaps as covered with a mane):--(young) lion, village.]

c. and the fatling [4806 * mriy'] [Strong: from 4754 in the sense of grossness, through the idea of domineering (Compare 4756); stall-fed; often (as noun) a beeve:--fat (fed) beast (cattle, -ling).]

d. together [3162 * yachad] [Strong: from 3161; properly, a unit, i.e. (adverb) unitedly:--alike, at all (once), both, likewise, only, (al-)together, withal.]

4. “…and a little child shall lead them.”

a. and a little [6996 * qatan; or qaton] [Strong: from 6962; abbreviated, i.e. diminutive, literally (in quantity, size or number) or figuratively (in age or importance):--least, less(-er), little (one), small(-est, one, quantity, thing), young(-er, -est).]

b. child [5288 * na’ar] [Strong: from 5287; (concretely) a boy (as active), from the age of infancy to adolescence; by implication, a servant; also (by interch. of sex), a girl (of similar latitude in age):--babe, boy, child, damsel (from the margin), lad, servant, young (man).]

c. shall lead them [5090 * nahag] [Strong: a primitive root; to drive forth (a person, an animal or chariot), i.e. lead, carry away; reflexively, to proceed (i.e. impel or guide oneself); also (from the panting induced by effort), to sigh:--acquaint, bring (away), carry away, drive (away), lead (away, forth), (be) guide, lead (away, forth).]

1). This whole passage deals with the animal kingdom during first, the Millennial reign of Christ and then the following age, the perfect age.

a). Isaiah 11:6-9 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

11:7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

11:8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.

11:9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

2). Another such witness is found later in Isaiah.

a). Isaiah 65:25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.

3). The earth and all of creation will be brought back to the original state it was created an before sin entered the earth, and before carnivorous natures began in nature.

a). Genesis 1:29, 30  And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

1:30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, whereinthere is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

b). Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
